how deep is deep enough?

how deep is deep enough?

Post by KurtHuhn »

I've been tossing around a couple ideas for small shapes and it occured to me that the tobacco chamber wouldn't be very deep at all - like about 1" or so. This is in response to some requests for some particularly small pipe - lunchtime or breaktime smokes where you might only have 15-20 minutes for a smoke.

How deep should a tobacco chamber on a "typical" pipe? Opinions?

I have small 1" or less bowls. I'm with Random, the right smoker can turn that into a whole lot. Now if the buyer THINKS that a smaller bowl will be better for a break, then maybe it will for him. When I want a "break" bowl I just pack less.

I saw some tiny pipes from Walt Cannoy just the other day - at Smoker's Haven on campus fyi. The bowls couldn't have been deeper than 1/2 an inch. And not much wider than that either.

You know guys, I'm pretty sure that in 5 years we'll all have to advertise our pipes as "handmade marijuana pipes." A prominent warning will have to be displayed on each webpage or store front reading

"These instruments are not for the smoking of tobacco which is an illegal and banned substance. Any attempt to use these marijuana pipes for smoking tobacco is punishable by up to 30 years in a Turkish prison."

Todd--who's only half joking

Will admit that when I see a driver smoking one those little pipes, I wonder what's in it. Guess that's a by-product of living thru the 60's, four years of that in CA in the Air Force. High ole times. lol

WTF?

I've never made a pipe bowl that small, and I've never made (or used) pipes for anything other than tobacco use! I think those pipes must have said "Comoy"...

Funny how Liberals get bent out of shape when someone lights up any tobacco product,But many of them condone the use of the heathen devil weed.

All marketing, and smoke up your butt. Short story, I had an elehpant issue about three years ago. Smoking 'gars (inhaling) at the time, some pipe. Stopped smoking for a year, and have just gone back to the pipes. At the time, though, my cardio told me I had to stop smoking. So I asked him, "can I chew nicorette?" Sure, he said, no issue, chew as much as I want.

Okay, got it. So I asked him, "look, I know the inhaling lung issue, tar, got it. But how does smoking hurt the heart?" He looked at me as if I was some kind of retard and said, "the nicotine, of course." I then reminded him he had told me I could chew all the nicorette I wanted. If it was the nicotine, why is the gum delivery system good, smoking delivery system bad? Putting aside lung issues, of course.

He looked as if his entire world had just crashed around him. He finally admitted he had no idea.

Sheesh. Got to love it.
