I will keep you all updated.. I ordered the briar for this and will be beginning soonly. I doubt I will be done with it anytime in the near future (moving, starting new job, etc) but I will try to document it as well as I can.. Any tips on photographing the process and finished pipes? My wife did just get a very nice Sony NEX-5N, so I guess I can tripod that...

Get ready to see me attempt this.. and you can all start laughing now.

Long ago my drill press with my help screwed up and took an uneven chunck out of my bowl. I got out the dremel tool and went to work. After sanding looked good and had enough wall thickness. The pipe sold that week. It was too much work, and my fault, not paying attention. I didn't want to waste the briar, a good piece, and I felt I needed to make it right. The guy that bought it is very happy, and I got a bunch of lessons along with a numb hand. If I want to rusticate the inside of the bowl, I smoke it a lot , then don't ream it correctly. Sas is right. He does know all.
