Pits on the stummel

Post by SchmidtN »

Hey, any of you guys ever file on the bottom of your stummel and find a pit and the more you file the bigger it gets and then you realize it's the draft hole?

I'm, uh... asking for a friend.
Hello, I'm #1312.
That's a really big number.

Never on the bottom of the stummel. But, I know a guy that knows a guy that has sanded into the airway on top of the shank a time or two or three.

I know a guy who's done that too. But, y'know, it's not me.

I once finish sanded a pipe, then I noticed a red glow on the inside of the bowl- apparently light was shining through it was so thin.

We'we just twying to make a widdwe pipe, Mr. Davis. When I gwow up, I won't sand thwough none of my aiwways. No siw!

I haven't done it in a while, but I have done it. Not sanding through your airway is a lot like sex, it's just a matter of knowing where the holes are.

Except those of us with fewer than a dozen pipes to our name.

I just know my turn is coming!
