A couple of new pipes (number 13 and 14)

Post by BrianMadsen »

Hello there! Here's some pics of two pipes recently finished.
I'm still learning how to take good pictures, but i think it has improved a lot.
The dublin is sold, and the billiard is for sale.
Completely handmade.
I would love some constructive criticism. Have a great day!

Nice overall shapes. Dial in the details and keep making pipes.

On saddles - Remember, you still want the mouthpiece to taper from the saddle to the button from the profile view.

I agree these are nice looking pipes. You've got a little something weird going on behind the button on the billiard. Maybe sanding scratches? The billiard also needs a little more of a belly to make the shape come alive. The button shaping needs a little work for symmetry.

Keep up the good work!

Good stuff. I think that on the Dublin, if the area behind the button were a bit more flat, it would probably be a bit more comfortable between the teeth. Looks like you got it right on the billiard. If you compare the two, you'll see what I mean. Aside from that, these are pretty nice.

It's weird how a thread suddenly comes alive when Premal writes something
Thanks guys, the things you pointed out are all things i'm aware of, but still good to hear. Then i know it's visible to others, and then i can work more on that.
I have only finished 6 handcut stems, and only 3 tapered, so i'm still learning a lot.
I'm still practicing a good "flow" in my tapered stems, but i think it's getting a little better for each stem.
