Re: strawberry briar
strawberry briar is a similar wood to briar but the grain is a lot more gnarly and swirly, though there are some straighter grained ones that look just like briar. Being a slightly softer wood than briar, it's ideal for gnarly grained blasts. They call it strawberry briar because the berry on the tree/bush looks like a strawberry (nothing to do with a strawberry tree or strawberry wood). If I had to guess, it would be in the same family as briar, but I'm totally pulling that part out my ass
Hope this helps

Steve can you post a picture of what this gnarly grain looks like?

Re: strawberry briar
Here's an eskimo I made out of some Strawberry Briar I got from Steve. The blast isn't very deep, but you can see what the grain looks like.
Am I Calamity Jane or Annie Oakley??...depends on the day.

Re: strawberry briar
What's this? New briar that elephants poop out. First it's dead sea monkeys then rotten aged oak now this. You guys will make pipes outta just about anything.
Re: strawberry briar
Well, if smoking elephant poop is cool, consider me Miles Davis.
