Yes, I've been working with that stuff for a couple of years now. It's nice, really gorgeous, though sometimes downright loopy in its color effects (candycane stems for instance). The disadvantage is that the material isn't as tight in QC as the German rods - it has more particulate matter in it and you'll almost certainly end up with some tiny pinprick pits on your stems, but it's a trade-off for very different material that you won't see on every other pipe round the corner.
