replacement nozzles / tips for Cyclone benchtop blaster?
replacement nozzles / tips for Cyclone benchtop blaster?
I thought this would be easier to figure out but I'm 45 min into web searching and coming up empty. I've got one of the Cyclone benchtop units that sold for around $300 a few years ago and included a siphon-fed gun. I'd like to try some different size nozzles and would rather buy them, if possible, than make them. Any suggestions for specific replacements? I have messages into Cyclone but have not heard back. Thanks!

Re: replacement nozzles / tips for Cyclone benchtop blaster?
I had the same issue a while ago. I ended up getting a new blast gun because I'd gone so long without replacing the nozzle that there was virtually no nozzle left for me to measure. I also haven't seen many of the Cyclone cabinets even for sale online lately, so I'm not sure what's up with that...

Thanks Jeremiah. Upon inspection, my nozzle is pretty worn out as well - the I.D. is near 3/8! I did hear back from Cyclone and they suggest replacing the orifice as well as the nozzle, if not the entire trigger mechanism. I'm not sure about going that far - from what I can see the orifice looks relatively fine, although I'm not sure what kind of damage I'm supposed to be looking for.
That cabinet, which seems to have been very popular among pipemakers, doesn't appear to be made anymore.

Here's what I replaced mine with. The ceramic holds up much better than steel. There are lots of other nozzle options as well as orifices(?) available at MSC.

I ended up replacing the gun and hose with this setup:

The gun required a larger hose, which required a larger pickup tube. Being able to quickly and easily replace the nozzles is nice. And the trigger is much nicer than the cyclone original.

Like Jeremiah, I also replaced my cyclone gun with the trigger fed gun from tptools.com. If you buy the replacement gun kit it comes with everything you need. ( http://www.tptools.com/USA-Cabinet-Gun- ... l?b=d*8026 )

Sweet. I've got a replacement orifice and nozzle on order. If those don't do the trick, or when they wear out, I'll take the plunge and replace the whole shebang.jthomas wrote:Like Jeremiah, I also replaced my cyclone gun with the trigger fed gun from tptools.com.
