I understand the most logical thing would be to get a new block and start over, but I'm having trouble swallowing that if there's a work around. Is there a repair that'll make this pipe functional? I don't care what it'll look like, it's just for me to smoke. the hole goes all the way through.

If you are just going to smoke it, glue in a chunk of briar and smoke at your own risk. Otherwise pitch it and make another.

As above, flatten the area, glue in a new piece of wood and then rusticate over it. On the inside spread some pipe mud to cover the glue line. Should be safe to smoke if you use a basic wood glue.
