Yeah, the new pulley works fine - I really just need the one speed and am quite happy with the new-drive-pulley fix. I'm going to have another one made for our second drilling machine and call it a day. I really hate messing with stuff like this for any length of time - unpaid workshop work is the pits.

Hey... if it is working to your satisfaction, problem solved. But wow... I sit here thinking about how you could run the entire shop with a motor of that size. Also, with a motor of that vintage, make sure you keep it lubricated, since they didn't make sealed bearings back then. Does it have cups for oil over the bearings?
