Real name: Mike Burkes
Age: 48
Location: Tiffin, Ohio
Years a pipe smoker: 20
How you got into pipe making: Always was curious, but finally started learning about 9 months ago.

Other interesting facts: I am a mechanical engineer, and I travel to Asia pretty often for my job. I have been lucky to visit Li Zhesong in China and Jerry Zenn in Taiwan. More recently Premal Chheda has also been more than generous in helping me learn from the various acts of jackassery I have committed in my first steps in pipemaking.

One thing that has really attracted me to pipemaking is the open friendly attitude of so many pipemakers to share their hard-gained knowledge.....as evidenced on this site.

Welcome. Your first post in the Gallery is pretty impressive.
I visited Premal last year and felt like I was trying to drink from a fire hose. Still incorporating stuff I learned there.

Welcome! Those are some shops I'd love to visit - highly envious!
