How you got into pipe making: I have smoked cigars at milestones in my life, but have nothing to show for it or remind me of those special times, so as I approached 50 I wanted to have a special pipe to commemorate that event and fell in love with the art.
Other interesting facts: I grew up in Jenks, OK. I've been a chiropractor for 27 years, married for 30 years, two daughters, and want to learn more about pipe making for myself and maybe give to friends and family. I might trade pipes with others, but don't want to sell pipes I make. I'm currently learning wood carving from an 80 year old Blackfoot Native American who has helped me carve my first few pipes.

Welcome! If you can swing it you should drive up to the Kansas City Pipe Show September 21-23 at the Argosy in Riverside, MO. There will be quite a few carvers there and it's always a great time!
