I believe the stem material on this one I'm working on is Juma. It certainly is not ebonite as it doesn't stink, but I also know it's not lucite because the smell is different and it's softer than lucite.
Next question...what exactly is juma? (I got this stuff a few years ago from a maker that was selling a lot of cut offs).

It is an alternative to ivory. Not sure exactly what it is made of other than some minerals mixed in a mystery resin. It is not polyester. It is widely used in the joint and butt on pool cues.

Re: Juma?
Atlas Billiard Supply sells it. I think their website is cuestick.com. It's a thermoset plastic. Works a lot like Ebonite, but it won't oxidize. The black isn't a true black, but I still like it. It's about all I've used as the white bands on "Scottie" pipes (though I did just switch to the imitation Ivory that Steve sells). Juma is a bit hard to bend, IME
Am I Calamity Jane or Annie Oakley??...depends on the day.
