Oval shank Dublin...

Post by JMG »

Initially this pipe was supposed to be an Eskimo, but that did not pan out. The sandblasting was outsourced to another maker since I lost my access to a blasting cabinet. 5" long, 1 3/8" tall with white Juma stem. I can't seem to get the white stem to show up very well, sorry. As always your critique/advice to improve would be much appreciated.

Here's a few other random pics that show the stem a little better. Do your worst, George...

Lots of technical good stuff there.

I think fundamentally if it's a "squashed" shape, ie, the bowl is not tall, I'd squash the shank more too, make it even less tall than it is. I think with current shank proportion, the bowl should be 1/4 or 1/2" taller, then the thing looks "right" to my eye.
