Type of Adhesive
When you guys are adhereing rings or other inserts onto stems or stummels, what adhesive do you use?
Same here, I use a 5 minute 2 part epoxy to be exact. I mix it for 60 seconds then apply with a matchstick. Let it set for about an hour and it should be machinable after that.
I put it on very gloppy so that it squirts out of the seams. After about 4 minutes it gets to a rubber, booger like consistency and I peel it off in a ribbon leaving a clean glue free edge.

Any two-part epoxy will do the trick. I get mine in big bottles from Woodcraft since Lowes only carries the small double syringes in my area. If you want something stronger, go for the structured epoxy - it takes 24 hours to set, but it gives you a long time to make sure things are perfect. It also is a lot stronger, and is useful for joints that don't have any internal support structure.
