I 'm italian and start 8 months ago to be a " pipehobbist" .
I read a lot of usefull informations here and I am very much thankfull.
Now I 'm starting to learn " mounthpiece" manufacturing handmade ...so I am in same situation.... when i was making my first bowl ....
A lot of job to be done
But honestly as mech eng I am really in love with this hobby

What method do you use for attaching the bamboo to the stummel? Also, do the stems have conventional tenons, or did you use the reverse design where the stem fits on a tenon protruding from the shank?

Latakia Lover , to be honest I have been using different sistems . protruding as well , stainless , ebonite , std stem or "customized " , I
dont have a lathe so all is handmade , done many ...many tests , enclosed some photos , some are "protopipe"
others already tested
by the way I do have a lot a lot a lot to learn ...... i.e make mounthpiece - Vslot .... and maybe is time I get a proper lathe
