Hello My real name is John Magsambol.
I am a filipino pipe maker for almost 3 years now. I started pipe making due to my love for Tolkien's work. I got annoyed when my first store-bought Bubingga wood pipe crack only after smoking it for 3 times (not to mention how heavy it is for such a small pipe). Since I have no access to briar wood, I use mahogany wood as an alternative. It may not be as beautiful as briar, but it is very sturdy and I have an abundance of it on my backyard . I am hopeful that I will learn more about the art of pipe making that will be helpful for my pipe making journey. I have a lot to learn and I will never stop learning new things despite only having the bare minimum of tools.
Thank you very much for latting me join the forum!
