Himchan "Leonard" Ha

Post by Gentleman_H »

Real name: Himchan "Leonard" Ha

Age: 31

Location: Korea

Years a pipe smoker: 8 years

How you got into pipe making: I like panel pipes very much, but I don't have any pipes on the market. So I bought a kit and started making it.
In the process, I found that making pipes was very happy and reminded me of something inside.

Hello, I am a Korean novice pipe maker.
I am a young man who dreams of becoming a pipe artisan in a place where pipe tobacco is barren.

compared to Europe and the United States. It's been 8 years since I smoked a pipe.

I've carved about 5 briar kits and 1 morta kit.
I'm making a small DIY Dust Box in my room and making it with some files, Dremel, Sanding paper, etc. But it was hard to finish the pipe.

Like many pipe makers, I need a lot of information about finishing.
I want to Study hard with you all, and I hope that I will be able to share a lot of information someday

I ask for your understanding in advance because my English is poor.
so communication may not be smooth.
(In fact, When I come to the forum, Google Translator becomes my best friend.)

Other interesting facts: Car, Watch, Fishing, Game

Welcome Leonard,
This forum is probably the most complete collection of pipe making information and expertise available and the members are helpful if a trifle blunt in their critiques. You will get a lot of “oohs” and “ahhhs” on other sites, but little of value in the way of critique. Here, it is the opposite.
The general flavor of responses here is to point out a problem and let you figure out the solution, so it requires some work from you. There is a lot of information about finishes, but it will require an active search and experimentation by you.
Sometimes you will be working 6 months later and suddenly realize what someone was trying to tell you.
I hope to see some of your work.

Ah! Here ya go, then. :D

The coolest panel pipe I've ever seen.

(Mentioning it because it's buried on the repair board, so not something you'd likely encounter while window shopping the threads)

Thank you very much for your kind and detailed guidance.
Looking at the forum, what I thought and what you said match a lot.
I will reflect your information in future works.

I'm afraid of criticism, but I'll work hard to show you the finished work. I'll do my best.
