this was my first time making a hybrid mouthpiece and I really love the style.

the bottom line isn't perfect, but I think its my best so far

I think this is very nice, and would be hard pressed to suggest any changes, except perhaps a small bevel on the chamber rim (mainly to reduce the possibility of ignition while lighting).
That hybrid stem is sweet and beyond my aspirations.

A bit of undercut on the stem's step thingie would provide some visual "motion" in the right direction.

(it's stupid-hard to draw freehand with this $1.99 software, so this is just to show you what I'm referring to... This is not the "exactly ideal" angle, sharpness, etc.)

Personally, I don't see any issue with your bottom line. I agree with Walt, though that you could do with a bit of a chamfer on the rim/bowl. Nice looking pipe.

I was actually mistaken about the definition of a “hybrid stem”.
I was thinking of the metal discs incorporated in the barrel.
George’s suggestion does make an improvement, but I wouldn’t have seen it.

Very nice pipe! It looks great just as you have it, but by way of possible refinements:
Another vote for chamfering the top of the chamber. I do that significantly on most plateaux tops and will at least break the edge a little on all pipes. I like the shape of your saddle, but if there is room I'd have taken it a little deeper into the stem. Depends on where your Delrin ends, though. I like the balanced spacing of your brass stem accents with the location of your saddle. Very elegant! Well done!

I agree with sethile. Very nice pipe. I've always heard this type of stem as a half saddle. I don't usually disagree with George but I'm not a fan of undercut saddles generally speaking. That may just be a personal preference and I do see how it gives the pipe some motion. To me, it draws too much attention and, in combination with the metal rings, would force my eyes to fixate on that part of the pipe instead of the pipe as a whole. Sometimes less is more, IMHO, and you captured just the right amount of interest without overdoing it. If there's anything I think could be improved, it's that it looks like more material could have been taken off the stem to give it a bit more gracefulness; especially if it was slightly undercut on the bottom line of the stem to accentuate the bend a bit and mirror the nice line you have on the heel of the bowl.
