Hi all,
I'm interested in making my own pipes, probably more for an artistic outlet than anything else. My dad has found an old GE lathe, probably pre 1972. Seems to funciton well, I'm not sure how stable it will be as I have not mounted it yet. I would consider it a mini. At any rate, I was curious as to what basic lathe tools I might need just to make simple shapes? Perhaps brands I could look for? I purchase a copy of a Raffan book for general turning info.
Best Regards,
Josh

Welcome to the forum. Your questions are ones that we all asked when we first came on. So as to not redesign the wheel, do a search for lathe tools and I think you'll find your questions answered. If not, come back, and we'll dive in with you.
You might also check this website for tools needed etc.
