I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get some green stain? I got a request for an emerald hued pipe (ala Boswell) and I don't remember any of the standard pipe suppliers having green (or blue, orange Etc.)
Any help would be appreciated![/i]

These are the same types of dyes that most pipe carvers use:

There's all sorts of colors there.

I seem to remember seeing yellow and red at my local Woodcrafter's store. I'd bet they have blue too, but I couldn't swear to it.
Yeppers. They do. Its water based, but as we talked about in an earlier thread, thats not all bad.

I know Peterson makes a line of green pipes. I always thought it would be fun to have one just to pull out on St. Patrick's day. I'm not sure about having one in the regular rotation though. It just doesn't seem like a normal color for a tobacco pipe. I look forward to seeing the pictures and how it turns out.

John has posted this link before, but they have all sorts of colors. Anything in the first ("LEATHER DYE") tabel will work for staining briar. I purchased from this site, good prices, and my order showed up quickly.

You just made me think of a great father's day present for myself. A racing green bulldog. I love those Petersons, but I can't afford 'em.
Dang, I always wanted to go wild on the colors for pipes. I need a good excuse to use blue. Hmmm. Maybe a July 4 pipe? Gotta find some red and white striped acrylic or something.
