Hello,
I'm Heinz from Germany (Aachen, near Cologne) and I'm smoking pipes for more than 25 years. Now, with 40 years, I wanted to try to make some pipes by myself and so I started with materials from Dan Pipe.
My first project is a little billiard out of a briar block without preboared holes and raw ebonit... Not the easiest way for a beginner, but I think I can say, that I've a lot experiance in pipe restauration and repairing...
Learning by doing and reading a lot, I've found this forum and I hope, I can learn still more about making pipes and perhaps I can give some good ideas to other members of the forum.
Please excuse my - sometimes - bad English, but I'll try my best...
Greetings,
Heinz_D

Hello Heinz and welcome to the forums. The people here are the reason I'm making pipes--everyone has gone out of their way to help. Everything I know about pipe making I learned here.
Don't worry about your English--mine isn't that good either and it's my first language. We won't even talk about my German.
Best,
Dave
