Chicago debut

Post by munkey »

Here is the small batch of pipes I took to Chicago as my official debut as a carver, and a detail of my stamp:

I have also put up a quick site to represent my work online:

It was good seeing several people from this board and getting a chance to spend some time talking shop, enjoying good smokes, tasty beverages, and good company.

I sold the sitter at the show, and have some folks interested in a couple of the other pipes. So, all-in-all I'm happy with my debut. As always, the show was a blast.

Scott,

Congrats on your debut! Great looking pipes as usual.

The stamp looks great also!

Cool beans!

Great to meet you at the show, Scott! I enjoyed seeing these pipes in person. I like your stamp too!

What a great time it was in Chicago! I'm scheming on how to get to the NASP show in August, and also Richmond in September, but that looks like it's going to be tough to pull off.... Anyway, I'm hooked on getting to as many of these shows as possible, and I plan to always make Chicago!

Craig, great to meet you! Bet that stamp is from Paul at A&M, but will be interested in Scott's (the Munkey's) answer to you on that.... Paul made one for me that I'm very happy with, although it's certainly not as cool as Munkey's, but then, I'm not as cool as Munkey is either 8)

Scott, it was great meeting you, too. I also enjoyed seeing your pipes, very nice work.

I would also like to get to another show this year, but I'm not sure that will happen. If nothing else, Chicago is the show I will make every year.

You are correct, I got my stamp made by Paul at A&M. I am fortunate to have a brother who is a talented graphic designer who was able to take my idea and make it a reality.

Thanks for the compliments, guys.
