I still can't take photos, but thankfully I can make a pipe

Post by Tyler »

My birthday was a month and a half ago, and to celebrate I made myself a pipe. Actually, as has been my habit of late, what I really did was finish out a pipe I started before I "retired" two years ago. This was a heart breaker when I shaped it, as the gorgeous grain was marred by a very big flawed that showed itself last minute. Since the grain was too pretty to hide, and since I am keeping this rascal, I filled the flaw.

I am leaving for a family vacation in Destin, FL tomorrow, and the inaugural smoke of this bad boy will be on the roof of this little dump we will be staying in in Destin:

A decent pipe for decent digs on a ho-hum little family vacation.

WOOHOO!!!! :D

Hey Tyler... Very nice. I like it a lot. I'm currently trying my hand at my very first bamboo........

Not sure I'm going to show it in public.

Anyway... Your's is great. If I ever make it down there to take you up on your "make a pipe together" offer it'll be awesome to sit in with you.

WOOHOO!!!! Right back at you and a happy belated birthday. Are you sure that dump is nice enough for that bad boy?

I mean really, only $12,500 a week, who's the slumlord?

Regardless, I hope you and your family enjoy this time off.

Very nice.

I really like the way you continued the divits from the boo into the ebonite and stummel. Neat effect.

Well, we had a great time in Florida, and I was wrong. We stayed in this dump, not the one I previously linked to: http://www.vrbo.com/44933

I actually did not get a chance to fire up the pipes, so it will have to wait. I am going on a fly fishing trip to Vermejo Ranch in Northern New Mexico in July...maybe then. (I almost always fire up a new pipe for the first time on at a special event.)
