Help on #45?

Post by flix »

Hi,

Here are some pics of my unfinished Bent Dublin Sitter. It needs some help and I'm a little frustrated with the progress I'm making. Any advice would be welcome, the issues are pretty obvious:

Thanks for the help. I'd like to save this pipe from mediocrity...

honestly, i'd clean up the lines a bit around the shank/stem connection; sand the living hell out of it from 320 to 1000(with a little staining along the way); polish it up; and call it a day.

looks pretty good; but i would round off the bottom front of the bowl more to give it a better flow. not a fan of the flat bottom there, but that's just me.

Keeping in mind that only know enough about photoshop to be a menace to myself and others, take a gander at this and see if it strikes your fancy:

Assuming your drilling will allow it, this is the direction I would take. It makes the pipe look longer, more elegant and curvy, and adds a Danish flair.

Personally... I would re-sand it and then contrast stain it and see if it adds depth to the pipe. Kurt's shape tweak look sharp.

Thank you all for the time you spent helping out with this. I think the rounding off and contrast staining is the route I should go. I'll post pictures in the gallery when it's done.

Thanks again for the help, you guys rock!
