Make your own Detail Gouge

(Disclaimer: I don't recall where I found this, I believe it was a suggestion from someone on the board)

I found this article awhile back and thought I'd share it with you guys.

It actually works very well. I was having trouble turning beads and coves on my stems. So I made one of these with a 1/4" rod and it really allows me to get into small places. It's very easy to do and it keeps a decent edge. I gave it a nice fingernail grind and it works like a charm.

This got me by until I started learning how to use the skew.
