Cool discussion everyone! Very cool indeed. Threads like this one are the reason I keep coming back.

OK, Group buy update here. Below are the final numbers. I'm going to start a poll about where to buy from. Majority rules.

Romeo Cross Grain_____$15.00_____$750.00____$100.00______$850.00

Blocks
50

The cool thing is, we don't have to order 50 of the same blocks. For example, I plan on ordering a good few X quality blocks and two or three XX. Shipping could vary. I suppose it depends on our final order. But these numbers came from the cutters, so I imagine they are pretty close.

Are these numbers reflecting some type of "bulk" deal that we are getting?

Well, as I think Todd mentioned, 50 blocks for these guys really isn't bulk.

Yep, the *really* good discounts happen when you start ordering by the bag and half-bag. However, if you compare the prices of buying a set of 6 and the price of buying 50, you can get good discounts.

Consider the cost of a 6-pack of medium XX plateaux from Jaume Hom is 90-Euro. That's 15-Euro each. A pack of 50 is 12-Euro per piece. That's a pretty good discount considering the (relatively) small order of 50 pieces. Now, you say want even better, you can get a bag of 150 pieces for 10-Euro each. There's where your big discount lies - in buying entire bags.

Similar discounts can be had for ebauchon.
