This is my effort to intervene on Rad's obsession for 'taters...I present thee with the Tsalagi 'Mater.

Like the finish, like the band, like your rusticating. But I find the shape pretty... blurry, I guess. The front half of the bowl and the back half are not the same shape, no definition between stem and bowl. The net impression is not one of delicacy or finesse. What separates this from a war club?

I did not intend for the bowl shape to be concentric, but I appreciate your criticism nonetheless.

I'll post a war club in a few days.

Mike, I know you can do round, and that it's not laziness or inability on your part that the pipe would be shaped this way. However, if I did NOT know that, and I was asked to judge the shape, I'd say "This guy is lost somewhere between a freehand and a real, defineable shape." Not to say that this isn't permissable - your pal RW's pipes are often in that realm - he usually only hints at classic shapes in many pipes.

Somewhere in there a guy finds his own style. :)
