Sasquatch makes a pipe

Post by Sasquatch »

Okay so here's a pipe I made in my basement, eh? Up in Canada.

It doesn't have a fancy name or anything like those German guys do for their pipes, it's just kind of a pipe. Or maybe I should call it "that kinda reddish pipe with the silver bits", eh?

Like the pipe shame about the photography :D

How you get the defined line of stain in the chamber?

I'm having a hard time seeing this; is that a silver cap on the shank, an ebonite ring, then a small silver band/inlay and then the stem? Or is it just glare? Very nice as usual. I like your penchant for bents. This one looks a bit daintier than is typical for you, though it could be just your giant meathooks distorting it again.

That end cap was a freaky shaped thing the PME sent me with a buncha bands I ordered. It amounted to a tiered piece of silver with a black band wrapping the smaller diameter bit of the silver. You can just see a peek of silver between the band and the stem. It's a cool fitment, but it was a see you en tee to fit by hand. Shoulda done it on the lathe. Live and learn.

Here comes a German reaction:

I´d name it "Dublin, Ont." Eh?

Very nice pipe, miserable competitor!

I'm not crazy about frills and fuss on a pipe, but this really works good. Nice one!

Nice!
I likey the band, silver ring fitment situation there. VEry elegant pipe, Sasquatch! Could you get those suspiciously-devoid-of-stain fingers to take a close up shot of that whole band meets stem part? Jesus, when did you start washing your hands before taking pics? Please don't make good pipes AND get fancy! I like the old Sas.

I don't see what the big deal is here. It looks nothing like a tallywhacker.

:p

Strong work Sas. I'd also like to hear how you got such a nice crisp stain line inside the bowl.

i like it. the size looks like it would be fairly lightweight and that would be good for everyday smoking. kind of a nice balance between straight forward and interesting to look at :D

Sas, I love the rich color of the stain. The mystery of the crisp stain line has me befuddled as well. Next time ask PME if they make a silver tallywhacker band. OH CRAP! That would make a great band name. Ladies and gentlemen... the Silver Tallywhacker Band. It would be in the same vein as Steely Dan. Did I just say vein?

Steffen,

Regarding the sausages, did you mean Sas's fingers?

I like it. Very steampunk-ish. Nice use of grain too.

Either that or it looks like sausages as Steffen says.
