Hobby lathe

Post by CastAxe »

I found this hobby lathe on grizzly.com, and it is basically a lathe that substitutes a motor for your own hand held drill. This seems like it wouldnt be a very good tool to have in ones shop BUT...the price is oh so good :D . Any ideas?

I've only heard complaints about that particular piece.
One thing to check on is what it's made of. Most will only suggest cast iron for rigidity, weight and staying true.

That particular lathe-shaped-object is a piece of s**t and will drive you insane. It also contributes to global warming, comes with a baby seal cozy, and is lubricated with whale oil. :D
