guide hole for tobacco bit?

could you please tell me how you sharpen a spade bit while it is turning in the lathe,I use a scraping chisel and bore chambers by hand, which is fine but recently I've thought of using a spadebit, but was also aware of both sides being uneven when sharpened by hand
