Forgive to dumb noob question. My bandsaw's lower wheel tire keeps slipping out of its groove. I'm guessing it just needs to be replaced, but are there other potential causes for this annoyance?

Just operator error... which is undoubtedly the case here.
Did you read the label on the side of the saw, "you must be this smart to use the machine?"

I'm no band saw expert, but you might want to check your wheel alignment and the balance on the bottom wheel.

Yeah check alignment and tracking, make sure your bearings aren't pushing the blade off either. I found the bottom wheel on my bandsaw wasn't actually sitting right on its axle, ended up having to make a shim/washer to get things working right.

I checked the balance and alignment on the wheel, and everything looked good. I picked up some new tires at Rockler, and after installing them (pain in the ass), everything looks great. Thanks for the advice (especially you, Ernie).
