Well, I don't think it looks anything like a dublin. A strawberry maybe. It is also not my cup of tea aesthetically, but it does look well executed. Drilling looks great, the stem polished up real nice, looks symmetrical. Shoot, nothing wrong with that little guy. I would suggest you take some time to study the classic shapes. It would give us more of a standard by which to critique your work IMHO.

In my opinion a dublin needs a taller bowl than that. I guess you could call it a squat Dublin :) Perhaps you are trying to force the piece of briar into a shape that it isn't going to work for? I find that myself when carving - I have an idea of what I want but the briar dictates what you will be able to do with it...if that makes any sense. I admire your commitment to trying to nail a specific shape though.

Also I'd just say that you've posted quite a few photos showing the pipe from the same angle, which is a bit unnecessary. Three or four good shots would be fine.

Just a few opinions for what they're worth!
