Small Pot Shape Practice

Post by bandkbrooks »

Ok, it was supposed to be a Canadian. I got the walls thinner and thinner till I could curve the bowl no more. The stem is absolute crap, thus no pictures of it. It was mostly done as a practice pipe.

The floor is now open for critique.

Nice looking bowl.

Consider a saddle or longer taper on such a pipe. A short taper will be uncomfortable, there is just no way around it. It is just too steep to not be thick and chunky feeling in the teeth.

Thank you. Yeah I really hate the stem on this one.

I think it's a cute little pipe.

One observation. When I look a the line of the top of the bowl in relation to the top of the shank, the top of the bowl seems like it slopes ever so slightly toward the stem. Nitpicky, for sure. A very good pipe.

It probably does. This pipe got to a point that I was afraid to do anything else to it. The weight and thinness of the walls reminds me of an old Dunhill I own.
