Okay, I'm just gonna comment on the two things that stick out most to me. They're not necessarily critique either.

First, I really like the treebark style rustication on the cherrywood. I think its a nice touch.

Second, I love the contrast you were able to acheive on the underside of the bent ball, but why is it not as apparent on the top?

As far as other comments/critique I'll leave that to the big boys that know what the hell they're talking about.

Unfortunately, the nice contract on the top was not very present because there was very little grain to work with, however, I have redone the contrast stain on the pipe as of two days ago. I will repost the finished pipe soon. Thanks.

Not a huge rustication fan, but really like that tree bark. How did you accomplish it? Did you sand afterwards?

I used a dremel tool to do the rustication, sanded a little, and restained with a dark red

Handsome work, both; I especially like the rim on the Cherrywood but I'd love to see a pic of the edge of the rim and how it meets the bark.
