is this lathe just not good enough?
is this lathe just not good enough?
"but rev, isn't smoking a sin?"
well I suppose if one were to smoke to excess it would be a sin
"but what would be smoking to excess?"
Why smoking two pipes at once of course

Drilling just stems, or the stummel as well? If the Stummel as well, to drill will require the same size as to shape.the rev wrote:so what is a good size if I am wanting to use it for stems, and drilling, but not for shaping?

I have heard from most that a minimum of 9" swing is required. No expert here, though.
Re: is this lathe just not good enough?
i believe something that size can do stemwork, but thats about it... though i have no personal experience with a machine that size. for myself, i wouldn't want to go any smaller than a 9 x 20, just not enough bang for the buck imo.
