Hello! About to start making pipes... again

Post by WCannoy »

Hi everybody! My name is Walt and I'm from central Florida. I used to make pipes, but had to quit several years ago due to some very poor decisions made on my part and a general lack of basic good business practices. Ever since I quit making pipes, I've been haunted by thoughts and dreams of briar dust and grain, phantom sounds of belt sanders and spinning lathes, and every once in a while I swear I can smell vulcanite rod being turned.

Since I can't seem to get the the spirit of briar out of my system, I've decided to start making pipes again.

I've been fortunate enough to have a friend with some equipment that he is letting me use... a drill press, band saw, and mini lathe, and I'm saving up some money for some other tools and materials that I'll need. I hope to be able to start making pipes within the next couple of months.

I've been lurking on this board for a while, and there are a few familiar names on here. Reading your posts, although anonymously so far, has brought back that feeling of brotherhood and fellowship, of belonging in the pipe community. I have been missing it...

I'm really looking forward to getting back to doing what I love to do... I can't wait to be a part of the pipe community again!

Man, things were crazy for a long time, probably seems longer to me than it actually was. But yes, okay now. I've been in a much better place for a while...

That reminds me, I still have my ASP group pin... and a CPCC pin, a CORPS pin, and a SHPC patch...

I already asked Rad he said shut up idiot, and I said yes sir.

I will ask Todd, and apparently if he says jump off a bridge the best thing to do is jump
