Carved from a solid block of African blackwood, with a square bamboo stem, holly accents, and inlays of barnacle shell and quartz.
The design takes elements from the Japanese Torii, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torii
Subtle curves and tool marks reveal the hand carved methods of creation, adding a subtle texture that is intended to tie mathematics with organic structures.

It's a theme with your pipes they look like just the right size for... nevermind
I like. The only thing throwing me off are the scratches on the bamboo and blackwood. Was the bamboo intentional? It's in danger of looking like an accident or laziness in sanding.
As is though, I like the shaping you're doing on this one.
