Just wanted to introduce myself to the board. I live in Rustburg, Virginia which is located in central Virginia. I grew up on a tobacco farm. I remember I rolled my first cigar when I was about 10-12 years old. My cousins and I hide in the "tobacco packing house" and knew enough to use the moist tobacco leaf for the exterior and the dry tobacco for the interior. Boy, were those things strong! Things were going great until my grand mother caught us.
I have read everything I could from the forum for the last 8-10 months. Everyday, I am blown away by the openness of the members. I know each pipe maker has worked very hard to learn his trade and discovered their own inside secrets but the willingness to share is very impressive. After making and selling a few pipes and getting my pipes in a small local shop, I decided that maybe I qualified to be a member. I know there are no qualifications but I never quite felt worthy to bother the guys with my newby questions.
Quite often, I have searched and admired pipe maker web sites and later discovered that those very same pipe makers were on this board. So, I realize there is a vast amount of knowledge on the board and I look forward to learning more and more each day. Thanks

Rustburg, South of Lynchburg, right? Some of my family lives in Va, between C'Ville and Richmond. Going to visit them next week, actually. I love Virginia. UVA undergrad and law. I still miss it after almost thirty years of living in Atlanta, Ga.
