I brought back some arrows from PNG. I have chosen the ones that I for sure want to keep and have some left over. I have no idea what I would trade them for and I'm sure with an open-ended trade offer non-sense of epic proportion may ensue...I will have to chance it. Anyway, as I said, no idea what so ever what I am looking to trade for. If you think you have something worth trading for a single arrow or the whole lot and want to make an offer then shoot me a PM. I'd guess that all the arrows are roughly 3 1/2 feet long. I can measure them later should anyone want to know exactly.
These pictures are kind of crap, sorry guys. If you're interested and want me to take better pics for you just let me know. All but two arrows are from my village. The other two are from a Sepik river tribe. These two arrows are specifically for shooting people, not animals.
All the arrows are made by hand, completely from bush materials with the exception of one. This arrow uses some sort of nylon looking thread, instead of vine, to fasten the arrow head to the shaft. Also, the arrows have coat of polyurethane. This was done in order to help them clear customs in Australia which is super strict. The red paint is made from a particular nut, and the white is a specific type of clay. Also, you may notice a black substance around the vine braids. This is produced by "sweat bees." The Hewa collect it from their hives that are built on the ground next to trees. It acts much like an epoxy.
Two arrows strictly for shooting people...

Man those are just awesome.
These arrows are sort of like the pipes we make.
I imagine you could make a crude shaft and point that shoots as straight and kills as good in half the time.

Re: Tribal Arrows...
These are what's left of my tribal arrows from Papua New Guinea if anyone would like to trade...not sure for what, but just putting it out there. All three arrows were made by men in the Hewa tribe. They are all made from bush material with the exception of whatever that blue and yellow twine is on that one arrow.

Re: Tribal Arrows...
I like the bottom two. PM what kind of value you put on them and what kind of pipemaking tools you need, maybe we can work out a trade.
