Any one think this stem will be too short? also what do you think about the width where it meets the shank face ? do you think a flare would look better?

A little longer may look better. Hold up various length finished stems or blanks to get a better idea of what the end result will look like.

Seems like Premal and me do the same. I have a box of unused premolds, some half finished stems and messed-up stems that I use to see what type of stem and length of stem works best.

I do that with other stems at times, I also have pieces that I have cut and abandoned for one reason or another that I use for the same thing,
But I thought I would ask peoples opinion here to see how others view it and to hear their feed back, I guess basically just trying to pick at other peoples brains!
