Hello there!
I live in Vejle, Denmark, and the street where i live recently held a small party to celebrate the completiion of a 1-year long renovation.
All the stores had tables and stuff on the street, and the theme was "The good taste"
So, my neighbor is a wine store, and the owner invited me to come and share his table, so i had a place to show my pipes.
I did, and i actually sold 2 pipes! that was a lot of fun!
it went something like this:
(sorry, it's in danish)

hmm, i don't understand what you mean?DrewEstateSam wrote:I was waiting to hear from the chef, until I remembered it was in Danish not Swedish
anyway, it was a blast! a lot of people came by and saw my pipes, they stopped for a chat and looked very interested.
There were some (very) old men as well who used to smoke pipes befoe, but stopped long ago. One of them stopped smoking in 1952 (!)
Pipes are really a good conversation starter!

The chef he is referring to is the "Swedish Chef" from the Muppets. Possibly the best recurring character.

Re: My pipes on local TV
ah, now i get it
I thought i would translate the interview, so it makes a little more sense to all of you:
Interviewer:
Brian, what are you working on here?
Me:
Well, i make pipes on a hobby basis. I finished my education nearly a year ago, and then i thought i would start working with my hands.
I like working with wood, and i'm a pipe smoker, so i tried my hand at pipe making, and i found it to be very interesting to work with.
Interviewer:
Why pipes, and not something else?
Me:
I find pipes interesting. It's something you can make wih your hands, and it is usable every day, and it can bring a lot of joy for many years to come. It's not just beauty or art, it's a functional, handmade item.
Interviewer:
How many pipes have you made?
Me:
I have made nine pipes so far.
Interviewer:
So, it is a bit difficult to start working on a pipe?
Me:
It takes some time. It can easily take me a week to finish a pipe, but of course it depends on how much time i can put into the process of completing the pipe.
Interviewer:
How do you find materials to your pipe making?
Me:
Well, it's not possible to just go out and buy the wood, it only grows in countries at the mediterranean sea. Most of it is imported from Italy, Greece, or Corsica. The wood is being sawed in to smaller pieces, and then sold to a lot of different importers around the world. It is possible to import it by myself, but i don't do that. I buy it from an importer who lives in Kolding
