Rad pipes, guys...making me embarrassed to post mine. Hopefully, I will finish it up tonight, but may be tomorrow.

Ok I've been away for a while and now I'm scared. There are some stunning pipes on here. I hope I can finish mine in time.

Well...here's my entry. It's no Walle, but this trade has really helped me to try new things and learn a lot. I had a blast with this. I hope this will make someone a decent pipe.

This one´s beautyful, John. And it´s rad, too.
The combination of those two odd colours is very daring.
So are the twisted curves. Perfect shape!
I´m afraid I love this conch.

Cheerio!

JMG it really is a beauty ,fine, subtle and elegant is the word appropriate to my observation .

Charls reminds me strong of some fossil and also very natural in its expression.

DaGamba you have an original there and i am afraid that who ever receives it will have to watch out for hungry cats ,no doubt

Eric i am drawn to describe your shape as sea snail, correct mi if it was not your vision

best,
Abi

Version 1.0 was going to be a sea creature, but that didn't work. Version 2.0 was my interpretation of Walle's style. That didn't work either. For Version 3.0, I looked closely at Walle's pipes and tried to make something similar. I can only guess how he gets that great finish though.

Good work gentlemen! Its been lots of fun watching the wide range of interpretations that comrade Walle inspires. I finished mine up this weekend. Unfortunately, there was a flaw on the front, left side of the bowl that I was unable to blast away...seems to be a trend for me lately. The draft hole is ever so slightly off center at the bottom of the chamber, as well, and I think the stem could be better...I'm afraid to mess with it anymore though, as it's pretty thin at this point. Hopefully whoever gets it isn't bothered by those issues.

This project was a lot of fun, and I learned some new shaping and staining techniques in the process, so all in all, I feel like it was a success. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Yes indeed, your feelings don´t fool you. That´s an awesome pipe! The shape got a very harmonic tension. Love it a lot.

You shouldn´t be concerned about that! I reckon, that´s really typical Wallenstein ...

Abi,

Thanks for the compliments. I hadn't thought of it before, but I agree that the pipe does have a certain nautical sense about it. I suppose that makes sense, though, as many of Walle's creations seem like they might have crawled out of some prehistoric ocean.

Walle,

Your compliments are greatly appreciated. Thanks for the kind words and inspiration.

Micah, really nice, man. I love the curves of your pipe and how they are offset by the one flat side of the bowl...nice contrast.
