I learned to think about what size I want the shank to be and to look at the bit before I start. Hard to keep a 5/16 mortise on a 3/8 shank. Maybe I'll use the "scrap" to make tamps with?

Hmmm, if you don't do pipes full time, work will always somewhere get in the way.

Hmm... Currently dipped into my pipe cleaning everclear with pineapple juice. Thinking maybe I'll tear back into this not so billiard. Maybe I'll just finish my drink?
Oh what I learned this week? More about how a billiard should be. And I read a thread where someone said to turn your tool rest and face the pipe as if it were a bowl and you'll get a smoother turn. Indeed and I tend to manage my tool a little better at that posture. Thanks who ever it was.
