Tyler doesn't even allow pictures of T-shirt-covered prettygirlbutts on here, you think he's gonna allow that?!
I'm not going to answer that. This smells like a set up. I'm out.

Todd Johnson beat you to it, I'm afraid.

And sold it to some Chinese Guy for $4500

(Not a rumor, I saw it with mine own eyeballs)
Actually, he's made a disturbing amount of them. At least a dozen, I bet.

He wasn't the first. I think that credit goes to Jorne Micke, if I'm not mistaken. I'm also told Bo Nordh had vulcanite replacement handle on his lathe that was of similar design.

The one I saw was his first, I think, based on the gag factor and all the WTF joking that accompanied its, um, unveiling, The summer of 2010, if memory serves. I figured it was a one-off deal, bein' so disgusting and all.

That'll learn me.

The stamping was certainly interesting.

As you might imagine, there's a certain set that commissions them. They almost all go to china, fwiw.

That, fwiw, isn't a pipe.

You'll notice multiple stamps on the um, object to the left. That was a group effort.

Whaaaat?! Go sharpen your axe, clean your rifles, pour yourself a Scotch and maybe 'rassle a cow to the ground. They're good looking, but "ballet" and "feminine" aren't words a manly man (a man from TEXAS!) is allowed to use to describe Danish pipes. Five yard penalty on that one.
I'm gonna second that :) at least five yards... is there a penalty of more than five yards? If so, invoke that :)

I think that's a replacement handle for Brad Pohlmann's lathe or some other tool he had that was missing a handle.

See what I did there?? "Some other tool". Get it?? Nudge, nudge. bwahahahah!

But seriously, I think that's what it was. Actually, I think it was mostly Todd that made it. :P

This thread seems to have gotten off track.

Ernie, do you have any more excellence to show us? :)

Phew that was some reading!

I am just glad none of my work is good enough to be critiqued here, I am not sure the servers could handle the traffic!

Heri,

I'm thinking that we should probably stick with carvers that either participate on the forum, or don't mind having their work picked over in a public setting. Have you asked Tupitsyn?

Nah, it's posted on Smoking Pipes. Legitimate fodder for discussion without asking permission, IMO. Maker's pipes get discussed in different forums all the time.

Very nice squat bulldog.

It's a very well executed bulldog for sure. I don't like the pinched style of the stem at the saddle though. I wish he would have gone with a stem the same width as the shank.

I agree completely. That looks like a case of self-editing that didn't kick in soon enough. Usually less is more when it comes to geometric, angular shapes.
