Small Dublin...

Post by JMG »

This pipe weighed in at a whole 17g and 5" long. Not sure I could safely make a lighter pipe.

I had planned on it being a good deal larger, but there was a weird place in the plateau that went in really deep. Not really a flaw, I guess, but made me remove a lot of material.

That's a nice little smoke break pipe.
It's not the size that matters, but how you use it.
Good job.

I think it looks nice, but those walls must be mighty thin near the bottom of the bowl, right? :)

Good job!

I used a tapered chamber bit so the walls actually have about the same amount of thickness at the bottom as they do they top. It's a 3/4" chamber at the top and tapers down accordingly...though I wouldn't go any thinner,

Nicely done, though I'd like to see some more pictures from other angles.

Sure you could of. Saddle stem instead of taper may have reduced it by a gram. 16g's!

I have hit 14 grams once with one of my "Scottie" pipes. The entire time I was working on it I was sure it was going to break it was so small. Normally they are between 16-18 grams. Bravo for making a regular pipe that light and being able to keep it looking good!

I got down to 66 grams once and thought "Fuck it, I gotta stop before this thing disappears."
