How you got into pipe making: I wanted to make my own pipe, got a kit from Vermont Freehand and absolutely loved carving it. Now, three years later I've carved 5 pipes (all kits), getting equipment to drill and am undertaking pipe making seriously.
Other interesting facts: I once worked at FAO Schwarz toy store on Madison Avenue (the big piano from "big"), trained staff to work with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities for ten years and left that position to be a stay at home father as, ironically, my older son was born with down syndrome. My wonderful wife and I have been married 13 years and have four amazing children who keep us both very busy. I hope to refine my skills to the fullest potential, understand it will be a long and difficult journey and am very excited to be part such an incredible community and resource for pipe makers!
