I need a carriage stop for my Craftsman 109 lathe, if I were to make a working model out of wood to specs is there anyone willing to duplicate it in steel
or Aluminum? Nothing fancy here, basically it's just a clamp that will fit my ^ ways.

Have you checked it you can buy one ready made?

Yes sir, there virtually none existent. I did make one out of wood and it works well but,
it's gripping power is limited and I don't trust it all that much.
If I trusted my skills I make one myself but........

They're readily available on eBay. Any one for flat ways will work.

I seen them and even talked to the gentleman selling them and he said that he was going to make some for the Craftsman 109 but, it was going to be awhile.
With all due respect, if he was going to make some for mine and the ones he produces now (for an Craftsman/Atlas) would work, my question is why then would he not say they'd work for mine? Personally, and I don't mean this to sound rude or condescending I can't see how they'd work very well clamping down on a ^ when there made for flat ways. The gripping power would be reduce substantially and they may even get cocked at an angle. I'm not a Lathe specialist nor am I even a machinist, this is just from what I can see using my own experience using clamps of any sort. If you can explain I'm more then willing to listen and learn.

Oh my bad I was thinking 101 not 109. I have a craftsman 101 and it has flat ways. Hmm yea the ways on the 109 look a bit different than southbends, otherwise I'd recommend trying one for them. Your best bet might be rigging up your own with a micrometer and some creativity.

Oh, I don't need a Mic, there's no increments on anything on this poor old thing, just need a stop so I don't good further then I need without having to use a dadburn piece of tape on the ways that I have to clean off each cut to see it.
Used the wood one I made today and like I said it works but, if I crank a little too hard on the carriage I'm afraid it just might move it.
And that's easy to do cause my crank is at the end where the tail stock is and not on the carriage like most lathes.
