CHHEDITE
Yes, I named a stem material after myself.
It can be polished to a super shine with care.
It does not oxidize or change color.
It does not smell like rotten eggs or burnt hotdog when sanded or machined.
It has about the same give as vulcanite.
It is food safe on contact.

Sounds really interesting, Premal!
Is this an existing material you've discovered works well for stems, or one you have developed?
Keep us posted in terms of your plans for it... I'd be interested in trying some if and when it becomes available.

Re: CHHEDITE
All that Premal claims is true.
What he's NOT telling you is the resin is extracted from ground up kittens, puppies, and widdle bunny wabbits.

Thanks fellas. It's the only gift I was given. We will ignore my other multiple attempts at humor that bombed over the past 5 years.

Oh yeah? **sniff** Well I've got my OWN special stem material I call, uh, RATIMUSITE! Yeah, that's it.PremalChheda wrote:

It can be polished to a high shine.
It will not discolor or oxidize if properly cared for and cleaned after each use.
It does not smell very much like rotten eggs or burnt hot dogs if you wait a while after machining or sanding.
It has literally the EXACT same mouth feel as vulcanite.
It is probably food safe.
I would tell everyone what it is, but that would not be wise in an open forum. If I withhold information and people have to waste time figuring it out for themselves they'll appreciate it much, much more.

Re: CHHEDITE
You are all so full of it.
All truly with it pipemakers know the ultimate stem material is RANDOMITE (a.k.a. wood), and that the stem and stummel should be epoxied together.

Re: CHHEDITE
My other new material is made of finely crushed stone, bonded with bits of lint and epidermal cells. I call it DUSTMITE.
I have also developed an all natural, organic, vegetable-based material that's compatible with all forms of vegan shellac: VEGEMITE.
Oh, wait...
