What shape is this Dunhill

Due to lack of time I haven't really gotten to make any pipes, but I have had time to do repairs on lots of Dunhills this year. I am repairing one now that was in a garbage bag with a bunch of Dunhill odds and ends. Unfortunately, this repair has removed the stamping. I would like to make a stem that resembles the original, but this pipe had no stem with it. I tried to find the shape online which I failed at. It might be easier to find if I was in the States, but I live under the curtain.

Thanks

Kiel

If it looks right then I'll probably just do a stem like this.

iVery odd shape, nice work. You were resourceful with getting the white dot. I assume that you can't just order white dot material on line?
Back in the 70s I used clips from cheap Bic ball points to make the 4 blue dots for a Sasieni. They were shaped by hand, heated, and jammed in the holes which allowed them to conform to perfect circles. The customer was happy.
Shame about the loss of imprint.

Here in the states, white dots are no trouble at all. China may be a different story. Though with a little resourcefulness, there are plenty of materials that should suffice.

Well, now... it looks like another repairman has entered the world.

I know you don't think so at the moment, kamkiel, but the challenge aspect is a slow-burn sort of thing. A little job here, a little job there, then someone will ask for something that forces you to plan an approach before starting work and also requires making a custom tool or two, and the hook will be set.

Finally, some lovely young lady will bring you her favorite grandfather's favorite pipe to resurrect, and she will cry with joy when you hand it back looking like new, and you'll be asking yourself why you ever thought you'd be happy only making pipes. 8)

Go on, laugh. But that's exactly how it will go. You'll see.

I suppose I could find white dots here too, but there's a garbage bag full of old chewed up and broken dunhill stems in the shop. Is it true the old stems used ivory? If so, that will be my excuse for not buying new white dotsâ˜ș

Thanks,
Kiel
