Sadly, the only trick is practice.
However, once my vfd setup is done (hopefully in a couple of weeks) I will try to set it up so that I can sit on the other side of the wheel and use the wheel running in reverse. That will require locking the wheel with a pin or something so that it won't spin off but I'm tempted to see how helpful can it really be.

my motors have a left/right switch I installed. As long as I tighten down the wheel decently in the arbor, I can spin it in the other direction and use it that way without coming off.W.Pastuch wrote:Sadly, the only trick is practice.

I used to have a reversible setup so I could run the disc both ways, I never used it so now just run in one direction which suits me better.
